The house of Vionnet has continued the heritage of the brand by creating
diaphanous gowns that define and flatter the
form through expertly cut and draped garments.
Honorable mention goes to Pierpaolo Piccoli's debut at Valentino, where pink came in the
form of
diaphanous embroidered gowns in tulle and chiffon
It cribs largely from dancehall, but stops short of adopting any of that
form's humidity; these
diaphanous tracks are a long stream of cool appraisal.

The building, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, is predicated on the concept of «the veil and the vault»: the vault being The Broad's large storage area for the collection, taking up most of the museum's second floor; the veil, a porous exterior structure
forming a
diaphanous cover over the interior vault, allows a diffuse natural light to penetrate the 50,000 square feet of exhibition spaces, located on the first and third floors.
