blazer or cardigan for more sophisticated look.
If I could
do it over I'd probably pick 1 - 2 base colors (black, navy, grey or camel), grab some workhorse pieces in those (skirts, pants if you
wear them, dress or two) and then 3 - 4 accent colors and grab some cardis,
blazers, shoes, and accessories in those colors.
If you think that you don't feel bold enough to make a statement with a velvet dress, then you can choose to
wear velvet top,
blazer, pants or some such skirt.
You can
wear this

did here or style it undone with your favorite tshirt underneath for a day time look.

When I can't decide what to
wear, I throw on a stripe or floral romper for my go - to look for everyday casual
wear and for nights out when I don't feel like
wearing a dress, I'll put on a darker or lacey romper, add a fitted
blazer and cute black clutch.
