Before the «Dispensation of Grace» of God, by which we are saved through «
Faith in Jesus Christ» as Lord and our personal Savior, Jesus Christ fulfilled the «Law of God» on our behalf during His ministry on earth,
died on the «Holy Cross»
for the «Remission of Our Sins» once and
for all, descended to hell and defeated death, then rose from the dead on the third day bringing us «Eternal Life» and «Reconciliation» with God the Father!
I care
for the elderly and have also seen this when people
die... the people I have taken care of cared more about the people they were leaving and seeing those who had
died before them, than any need to be told God was there... people with
faith KNOW He is
As far as the question posed about what about salvation
for people who
died before Jesus came, or the people of other
faiths who
died already?
The reply given by the Johannine Jesus appears at first to confirm this by saying, «If a man has
faith in me, even though he
die, he shall come to life», but then proceeds to add quite a new interpretation of the resurrection power of Christ in the words, «and no one who is alive and has
faith shall ever
die».13 C. H. Dodd concludes that «the «resurrection» of which Jesus has spoken is something which may take place
before bodily death, and has
for its result the possession of eternal life here and now... The evangelist agrees with popular Christianity that the believer will enter into eternal life at the general resurrection, but
for him this is a truth of less importance than the fact that the believer already enjoys eternal life and the former is a consequence of the latter.»
Jeremy i think satanic forces is more likely in that particular storm with Jesus and his disciples in the boat that was to test his disciples
faith and they failed the test.Jesus rebuked the storm there was a power that was out to destroy them why else would he rebuke it maybe he was waiting foir them to rebuke it themselves they had prayed
for people and seen healing they had commanded evil spirit to come out of people so they were aware of the power of God.Yet they were in fear of there lives faithless and afriad.Paul on his way to rome was caught in a storm and through an angel paul was told many would
die Paul interceeded
for the crew and lives on board and God promised that all would be spared.Paul had warned them
before the voyage that it would end in disaster but they did not listen.Satan wasnt happy with that plan because he had hoped to kill as many people as possible there was over 300 souls on board and many had been expected to
die.So satan attempted to kill Paul and he was bitten by a snake but satan is no match
for Jesus Christ he has been defeated and so Paul lived and continued to preach the gospel was many being saved.brentnz
I'd say that the deposit of
faith we've been given in the Creed is enough
for us to say with certainty that Christ did, in fact, descend into Hell to atone the sins of those who
died before Christ's coming.
Before her eighteenth birthday, she had been baptized and confirmed, and had
died for her
faith.
Hey BP.This is a serious question with no time
for fun and games. The Bible says JESUS CHRIST is the only way to HEAVEN.I believe it.Sooner or later we will all
die and stand
before GOD.If you except and admit that when JESUS
died on the cross, rose again the 3rd day, and put your
faith and trust in HIM, HIM alone, you are going to HEAVEN, anythingelse is useless, if you can get to HEAVEN on your good deeds, why would HE had to
die on the cross, this is not meant to be offensive, but i felt like i shoul tell you.Turn to JESUS, and HE will take you to HEAVEN JOHN 3 16 THANKS
