Outside of
boss fights, the only times I
died repeatedly
in the same place
in Sonic Mania were due to repeated crushings, which never feels as fair or justified as a more normal death.
Not only that but the
boss fights were lame and generic besides motherbrain which was unique but still mindless
in that you shoot her until one of you
dies.
Additionally, after you've conquered a world
boss, you can replay the world and face a series of challenges which further change up the rules (finish a
fight in a set number of turns, get everyone to a specific spot without
dying, etc.).

in this game: if you
die at the end of a level you often have to start again from the beginning of it,
boss fights are very difficult on even the easiest setting and will require many hours of trial and error, you also can not save the game whenever you want to.
Outside of
boss fights and other scripted sequences, it's almost impossible to
die on Easy (seriously,
in that corridor
fight I mentioned, on Easy Geralt could stand
in the middle of five guys swinging their swords and still survive), and that reduces potentially epic moments to anticlimactic clickfests.

boss fight in the demo (which is done extremely well, as the player must defeat enemies
in order to keep a timer going before he
dies) you're taken to the cyberpunk - inspired city of Rengkok.
Not being able to jump across the chasms before the end

boss being stuck before heading up or entrance not allowing people

LEGO games are not the place to have lengthy
boss fights; it doesn't matter that you don't really
die in the game.

boss battle themes change depending on how well the
fight is going — if you're
in trouble, it delves into a cacophony until you can rescue yourself (or until you
die), but if you damage your foe enough, it transforms into a heroic, can - do tune that gets you pumped for victory.
I remember being utterly enamored with its charm and the way Kojima and team play with your preconceptions of what a video game should be (the
