I found Graham Lawton's article on
dietary salt rather disappointing (3 December, p 46), not because it disagreed with my own point of view, but because it stuck to the establishment line.
In a new study published in Open Heart, a publication of the British Medical Journal, researchers argue that
dietary guidelines should put the spotlight on reducing added sugar consumption —
rather than
salt — in order to really slash hypertension, heart disease and stroke rates.
