in the process of guinea pigging it — yes, I've made that an active verb again — with all my books and then keeping an eye on the Amazon
Sales Ranking to see if it makes a statistical
difference...
The
sales ranking does plummet initially, as your free downloads aren't counted as
sales, but it catches up quickly enough — it's the boost
in the popularity charts that makes free promotions worthwhile, but you need to give away a whole ton to make any
difference (10,000 or more, as a rule of thumb).
