While the lowest amount of carbohydrate intake is well established there are no general recommendations for an optimal or maximum amount of sugar and carbohydrates for people with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's since everyone has
a different carbohydrate tolerance and it has to be determined individually.
In the end what works for one may not work for another and we all have
different carbohydrate tolerance and different protein requirements.

tolerance test and actually Rob Wolf talks about this in his book as well, where based on some research out of Israel, there was a study done following 800
different people and they found that you could give two people the exact same
carbohydrate source whether it's sweet potato or bread or lentils and they would have very
different postprandial glucose responses.
It's obvious that everyone is going to have a
different level of
tolerance for
carbohydrates — depending on our previous intake of
carbohydrate, what we're used to keeping our blood sugar levels at, and how active we are in using up that energy from
carbohydrates.
I really do notice a difference in my aerobic vs. anaerobic activity throughout my
different phases, as well as my
carbohydrate tolerance and overall energy levels.
