There are
different elements you can add — if you want — after the
chapter heading.
In our eBook we will have paragraphs for general text, we might have headlines, we certainly will have
chapter headings, and each of these will require a
different look.
Chapter headings are a common place to change the font you're using, and it can be good to use a
different font for alternative means of communication, such as typed dialogue (text message, for example) as opposed to spoken dialogue.
I left that out as it was specific to my book, but that is where I coded it to not indent my first paragraph, make my first line all small caps, gave my
chapter headings a
different font, etc..
Another way to include a
different font for your
chapter headings is to make each
heading an image and put those into your ebook.
I've tried a dozen
different things (including making the formatting exactly the same as the
chapter headings, with the only difference being that there's no link to the TOC), and nothing works — the previewer still shows those lines right up at the top of the page, while the
chapter headings have a much larger top margin.
