This is the third or fourth
different cracker recipe I have made and I quite like them.
Not exact matches
I compared the
recipes and realized that while most of the ingredients are the same, the proportions of butter, PB, cream cheese and sugar are really
different, plus the Buckeyes use graham
crackers in the mixture as opposed to using them in the crust (for my crust I combined leftover graham
crackers / assorted stray cookies / cake ends / pop tarts that were in our freezer, and it was delicious!)
It has a pretty comprehensive summary of why it's good for you, what the various techniques are, what equipment is good to stock up with, what pantry items are good, it gives great
recipes that sample all the
different kinds of types of foods that you can learn about, working with a dehydrator, making flax
crackers and granolas and raw desserts like Glad Pies and raw puddings, it's definitely a good intro to the raw food movement and the underlying philosophy as well as the
recipes and techniques.
Finally, after tasting and comparing
different recipes, I created my own
recipe of salty
crackers.
I cut mine out using cookie cutters in
different shapes and the
recipe made over 100
crackers a little bigger than 1» squared each.
I am always looking for
different snack
recipes so the endurance
crackers sound right up my alley!
The
recipes include 42
different cookies and 30 cakes, plus pies, tarts, coffee cakes, scones, biscuits, muffins,
crackers, bread, fine pastries and more.
I got the idea for adding the graham
cracker crust from a
different recipe I saw on Pinterest last month and it works spectacularly well with the spiced apple cake.
This
recipe is for a garlic and onion flavored
cracker - to make it with
different seasonings omit the garlic and onion powder and use whatever sounds good - nutritional yeast, rosemary, herbs, chili powder, etc..
