The cutscenes are fully rendered in 3D as is the
gameplay itself, but then cutscenes during campaigns are done in 2D hand - drawn art, while city screens are also in 2D and feature a completely
different style of artwork that paints each town in a classical, bright fantasy
style which doesn't match the rest of the game.
Each of the three levels (the third revisits a location from Dishonored) has plenty of
different routes to take,
which, when mixed with the various
gameplay styles at your disposal, gives the DLC plenty of replay value past the few hours it will take to get through it the first time.
For the Playstation 4 version of the game, Dana actual has 3
different style changes,
which adds more to her and for the
gameplay in terms of things she can do.
These two additions (unique hand - crafted levels &
different abilities via character selection) serve both casual and hardcore gamers alike — casual gamers will enjoy the greater variety in
gameplay provided by the various stages & playable characters, while hardcore gamers will enjoy mastering the
different styles of
gameplay & figuring out
which are the best characters to use in each of the game's levels.
Currently in the works is multiplayer mode
which will be similar in
style, in the initial launch, to what you would find in other console games with
different maps and
gameplay modes like Death Match and Team Death Match.
The
gameplay involves choosing one of four archetypal characters (to fit
different play -
styles) and then going off and shooting things, collecting loot (in the form of weapons, shield mods and grenade mods) and cash, and completing missions (
which generally involve shooting things).
