Like I said in the post, in a «small kitchen» you won't necessarily have room for an island, counter stools, dining tables, etc, so I call it «small» because designing in a smaller space is a different experience than designing in a large space.

Also, you can see we made the ends of the island (under the counter) have a different look than the end of other cabinets in the room (see the beadboard ends a few photos down.)
