If you've looked on the shelves of your local specialty grocery store lately, you'll find an explosion of
different nut milks available — here are some of our favorite finds.
I've been experimenting with making
different nut milks from the traditional almond, and I'm going nuts for walnut!
In terms of dairy milk substitutes — I enjoy making
different nut milks at home.
We love experimenting with
different nut milks and butters — cashew makes it extra decadent — and throwing in teaspoons of other adaptogens like ashwagandha or reishi.
Not exact matches
The method is slightly
different than the one I use for
nut milks, although it's just as easy to make and the results are creamy and delicious.
Try making your own almond
milk, mixing
different varieties of
nuts into a trail mix, spreading a
nut butter onto some toast or adding them to smoothies!

This pistachio chocolate bar is a great option to the chocolates with
milk, you can make lots of
different types of chocolate bars just playing around with
different nuts and fruits.
They have three
different kinds of house made
nut milks (I got the matcha latte with almond
milk which was steamed to a pillowy perfection), zucchini noodle pad thai, chia pudding, raw bagels, etc..
I toast then coarsely chop my filberts (hazelnuts)- and you could use so many
different yummy crunchies here - pine
nuts, pecans, toasted slivered almonds, even croutons of day old crusty bread... for those watching their saturated fat, use evaporated skim
milk instead of the cream - just as yummy!
I made two batches of
milk (
different combination of
nuts this time) but once I got on the second batch I got the brilliant idea to make a cacao (duh add chocolate) version.
1 cup steel - cut oats 4 cups water 1/3 cup almond
milk (coconut
milk is also delicious) 1 Tbsp
nut butter (we used cashew) Chopped fruit (this time we're using kiwi; you can do one kind or a combo of
different fruits)
I recently discovered I am intolerant to oats & cows
milk so I had to change my breakfasts, and this is what I came up with... Every Sunday evening I make a large bowl of quinoa, with it I mix in raisins (to make it sweeter), cashews, pecans, pine
nuts, chia seeds and flaxseed and dish them into 5
different containers.
After experimenting with all sorts of
different formulas, our Flavor Gurus decided that almond
milk provided the best «blank canvas» for the delicious brownies, caramel,
nuts, and chocolate we sourced.
You can easily make them
nut - free by using a
different kind of
milk and a
different flour for the crumb topping.

nut milks, ghee and the like — and then goes on to presenting delicious, healthy recipes for all five seasons, dividing Summer into Early and Late Summer (with which I agree with much enthusiasm — those two are quite
different in terms of produce).
Feel free to play around with
different toppings - I imagine that a drizzle of melted white /
milk chocolate or
different types of chopped
nuts or seeds would also work well here.
I guess this is a form of bircher muesli, and can be made with a hundred
different ingredients (oats with
different dried fruits, seeds,
nuts, fresh berries, any type of
milk or yoghurt, even fruit juices) but I have loved my simple version!
An obvious go - to for dairy free people is almond
milk and it will always be in my top 3 but after purchasing in a really good quality
nut milk strainer (a muslin cloth bag), I started branching out to
different nuts to see what worked and what didn't.
So if you don't like the taste of your homemade almond
milk, try buying
nuts from a
different store.
There are so many recipes out there — some with greek yogurt or
nut milks, with fruit blended in, and
different sweeteners.
Though each provides
different nutrients, alternative beverages to cow's
milk include goat
milk, rice
milk, soy
milk, and
nut milk, all of which contain some natural vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats.
I've been amazed by how wonderfully
different my son is Being a vegetarian for 8 years I never would have imagined not only cooking liver, bone broth, goat
milk kefir, homemade applesauce / ketchup / mayo, homemade
nut breads, etc... but enjoying it and looking forward to eating it again!!
