Survival mode is at the same time subdivided in
different categories of gameplay that you unlock in the Quest mode, and lets you play with certain conditions such as only being able to pick up power ups in order to kill enemies or to have one clip per
weapon but have
weapon pickups periodically pop up around the battlefield.
There are the familiar role - playing elements that allow you to upgrade your character, from their basic stats and inventory size to the ability to specialise in
different types of combo
weapon — so that you can create specific
weapons from non-specific parts in the same
category.
The
weapons are pretty varied and are divided into quite a few
different categories, from hand cannons to rifles of the automatic or semi-automatic specializations, not to mention the adequately futuristic fusion rifles and quite a few other varieties.
Each
category of ranged weaponry has a
different overall role, but there are also numerous
weapons within that
category with
different strengths and weaknesses.
With nine
different categories of
weapons, ranging from Bows to Claws, players can learn the unique characteristics of each
weapon and determine which is best suited for each battle and their style of play.
Weaponry is essentially upgradeable on a step - by - step basis as gems can be collected and integrated into a
weapon such as a sword to offer bonuses when equipped into
different category slots within that
weapon including potency, vitality and wealth in which there are 5 slots per
category that gradually improves the efficiency in each area of the
weapon as more slots are covered by gems, while 3 gems of the same quality can be combined to create one gem of higher quality.
