It is so nice to always have a bag of corn and peas
in the freezer to serve on the
side for
dinner or some frozen strawberries to whip into a smoothie.
The other day I read that the day of the family
dinner plate being made up of a main protein (meat, chicken, fish), a
side of carbohydrates (rice, pasta, potatoes), and then a
side of veggies (carrots, broccoli, whatever is languishing
in the fridge), is quickly losing ground as the best idea of what

dinner?!? - Perfectly baked flaky salmon soaking
in salsa verde with

In Indian household, beans, chickpeas, lentils are every day vegetarian
dinner sides.
● Melt butter
in hot milk ● Add to yeast mixture ● Add flour 1 cup at a time until comes away from
sides of the bowl ● Knead until soft and smooth ● Let sit (it says 5 - 6 minutes but I left it for 15 minutes ● Shape dough by forming a 12X8 rectagle and fold / roll and pinch the dough up on it's self lengthwise ● Butter and sprinkle cornmeal on a cookie sheet ● Place dough on sheet let double (I left mine for about 2 hours since I went to
dinner but the directions say 50 - 60 minutes, but more times means more air which I like) ● Bake
in preheated oven at 425F for 30 - 40 minutes.

With this method, you can put these
in the oven, make a salad to go on the
side, maybe even do a load of laundry real quick and bam, you have
dinner before you even know it.
Beef stroganoff can be served over egg noodles as shown
in the photo and goes very well with a

My quick
dinner staples include pasta with a super garlicy / red pepper flakey / parsley - ridden olive oil sauce with a big
side salad (or a whole bunch of whatever vegetable is lying around tossed
in the pasta); hummus (used to be store - bought but now your ethereally smooth hummus recipe!)
It's a cousin to your moroccan carrot salad (which we love), but it is more filling b / c of the chickpeas and almonds
in it (so, I feel okay with it being a «main course» for our
dinner, and eat whatever is leftover as a
side with some grilled meat the next day).
Normally, I serve baked potatoes when we have soup for
dinner but since this soup already has potatoes
in it, we had a big pile of lemon basil turmeric veggies on the
side.
