The glaze I use doesn't really absorb into the paint too much but I can see how some glazes would be really hard to control
directly over chalk paint.

I thought I would need to apply Zinsser Shellac
over it as so the
paint would cover it, but thought I would experiment first and just try the Duck Egg Blue

Hello Nazia — If the surface is flat oil
paint, then applying
Chalk Paint directly over it should be fine.

You can simply add a new coat of
chalk paint directly over the existing wax.
