Many of the traditional ascetical practices
disappeared from the formation of priests in favour of promoting psychological «wholeness», achieving «psychosexual and affective maturity», meeting the «need for intimacy», «befriending your sexuality» and a number of other ambiguous ideals that could co-exist with what were previously considered mortal sins.
