in the X-Men
film franchise may be
disappointed to hear that neither actor will appear
in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse.
The Expendables 3 is the first
film in the
franchise to sport a PG - 13 rating, which some fans will likely be
disappointed with, especially since the first two
films really pushed heavily into R - rated blood and guts depictions.
The previous
films in the DC Comics Extended Universe series (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Suicide Squad) have left both critics and comic - book fans increasingly
disappointed in the
franchise's output; as a result, Wonder Woman, which is receiving its release ahead of the first Justice League movie (set to premiere this November), has been saddled with the burden of recovering DC's tainted reputation
in the eyes of viewers, while also representing the first major female - fronted superhero flick
in more than a decade.
First off was «The Cloverfield Paradox,» the deeply
disappointing sold - to - Netflix continuation of the «Cloverfield»
franchise in which a space station crew's mucking about with the time - space continuum ends up being the cause of the original
film's creature invasion.
After the slightly
disappointing numbers «Fantastic Beasts» made on the weekend, no surprise to hear (though the plan was probably already afoot, considering that cameo at the end of the
film) the Warner brass are going to retool further chapters
in the series to more resemble their sure - thing «Harry Potter»
franchise.
The highlight of the first
film was its incredible animation, and director Dean DeBlois (working solo now that his co-director Chris Sanders is spearheading the Croods
franchise) makes sure not to
disappoint in that vein.
