It is much more disturbing that there can be so much variation within one hospital: Going to Ein Karem was a totally reasonable choice for a mother who wanted to be with her babies a lot — it worked for you and for many other people (myself included; when my son was born there I had him by my side from his birth to our
discharge other than when I asked the nurses to watch him while I
took a shower), but then you
hear nightmare stories like this one.
