It is not quite accurate to say that he took the gospel of Jesus — that is, the message which Jesus himself had preached and taught — and made it over into the gospel about Jesus; for that is what the Christian message had been all along, from the very beginning of the Christian movement, ever since the assembling of
the disciples after the Resurrection and their first proclamation of the good news about Jesus.
These properties can be glimpsed from the Gospel accounts of the appearances to
the disciples after the Resurrection.
Jesus himself affirms this, appearing to
his disciples after the Resurrection: «all authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me» (Mt28: 18).»

This theme is presented by Jesus to the
disciples during the forty days
after His
resurrection and before He ascends to heaven.
The Book of Acts can be seen as a continuation of Luke since it is what he observed of the
Disciples - turned - Apostles
after Luke finishes reporting of Jesus» crucifixion and
resurrection.
It wasn't until
after the cross that the
disciples started proclaiming the death, burial, and
resurrection of Jesus, but even then they weren't sure how the Gentiles fit in.

after his
resurrection, despite the fact that their culture deemed them unreliable witnesses; who charged Mary Magdalene with the great responsibility of announcing the start of a new creation, of becoming the Apostle to the Apostles.
After Christ
resurrection He breath on his
disciples / then instructs them to wait for the promise of the Holy Spirit.
Yet, in the fourth Gospel, we are told that when Jesus joined the
disciples in the upper room
after the
resurrection «he breathed on them and said to them, «Receive the Holy Spirit»» (John 20:22), establishing a direct (and almost too obvious) connection between him and the amazing Power of the early church.
Yahweh and the Baalim are totally opposed to each other; the prophets shouted out condemnations; the
disciples did not preach reconciliation until
after Jesus» death and
resurrection.
After the
resurrection, Jesus is in the room with the
disciples.
When the two
disciples fail to recognize him
after the
Resurrection, Jesus begins «with Moses and all the prophets» and explains to the
disciples «all the things about himself in all the scriptures» (24:27).

The tomb where the
disciples had laid the Lord's body found empty, along with the reports of His appearances

disciples asked the risen Lord.
Whatever may have been the actual course of events, historically speaking, which the New Testament means to signify when it speaks of the
resurrection of Jesus Christ, it is at least clear that it was the conviction of the New Testament writers, building on the testimony of the
disciples after the crucifixion of Jesus — as it has been the continuing conviction of millions of Christian people since that time — that far from Jesus» being «put out of the way» by his death at the hands of the Roman authorities in Palestine, he was «let loose into the world.»
It is Luke also who reports that Jesus twice called upon God as Father from the cross (23:34, 46), and
after his
resurrection spoke to the troubled
disciples of «the promise of my Father» (24:49).
On the Mount of Olives, the
disciples asked Jesus the same question they asked him
after the
resurrection: When will these things happen?
«
After Jesus» failure and death, his
disciples stole his body and declared his
resurrection in order to maintain their financial security and ensure themselves some standing» So let me get this strait, the
disciples slip past the awake guards and the chief priest that gather, remove a large stone without making enough noise to wake those who were already awake.
The teaching is completed; the truth has been given the
disciples, and they will receive it fully through the power of the Spirit
after the
resurrection.
lt is unlikely that the high priests would have taken Jesus» prediction of His
resurrection seriously, even if they had known about it:
after all, the
disciples themselves were surprised by it.
The three stages of Christian existence are thus sketched out: first is the time of the manifestation of God's glory through Christ to the
disciples; second is the new form of presence of Christ in the church
after his death and
resurrection (this is where John was, and where we are now); finally, there is the consummation of the church in the perfect love of the presence of God.
The
disciples will not really see this until
after the
resurrection.
And to those who have been
disciples and have let their Lord down time and again there were presented the scenes of Jesus
after his
resurrection.
This insight closely corresponds to the
disciples» experience — perhaps fully explicit only
after the
resurrection — that when they were with Jesus they were in some special sense in the presence of God.
After Jesus» failure and death, his
disciples stole his body and declared his
resurrection in order to maintain their financial security and ensure themselves some standing.»
The
resurrection was an experience the
disciples had three days
after the terrible shock of Jesus» death on the cross.
Even
after the
resurrection, the
disciples had to realise that Jesus was not going to fulfil their cherished dreams.
But this tradition, found no earlier than Matthew's Gospel, more than fifty years
after the event, almost certainly stems from much later apologetic, suggesting, as it does, that the Jews, unlike the
disciples, were ready for the
Resurrection even before it happened.
Many scholars have consequently interpreted it as a
resurrection narrative which has been read back into the earthly life of Jesus.34 Whether it stems from an actual experience of the
disciples, or whether it is a symbolic account of the much more complex spiritual experience of the
disciples after the crucifixion, it is very difficult to determine.
How many
disciples did Jesus appear to
after his
resurrection?
Even
after the
resurrection, the
disciples were still looking for the thing by which their movement could be judged successful: «not will you establish the kingdom?»
But when I looked at the Gospel for the day (John 20:19 - 31), it became very clear to me that here is a story, a story of Jesus» appearance to the
disciples when they were in hiding
after the
Resurrection... this was a real opportunity to say something about that story and about the faith which is built around people who were fearful, were skeptical, and into the midst of them, somehow, in a way that was ultimately moving, comes the presence of Jesus through locked doors and barriers of skepticism, cynicism, and doubt, all of these things that prevent ourselves from being God's people.
It was only later,
after the
resurrection, that the
disciples understood the meaning of his action (John 12:16).
After his
resurrection, first telling his followers that all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to him, he commanded them to «go and make
disciples of all nations» (Matthew 28:18 - 19).
This is not culture, Jesus broke all culture by allowing women to be
disciples, by appearing first to women
after his
resurrection.
In Luke,
after the
Resurrection, Jesus tells the two
disciples on the way to Emmaus that the Christ had to suffer (24:26), that is, the same thing is said there about the Messiah that is said here about the Son of man.
The Gospel of John says that
after his
resurrection Jesus gave the
disciples authority to forgive or retain sins (20:23).
After the
resurrection of Christ, the
disciples went to different parts of the world to proclaim the Gospel.
Indeed, in some cases it is actually suggested that the
disciples recalled the miracle only
after the
resurrection or, at any rate, spoke of it only then.
He preferred humility to hierarchy, washing his
disciples» feet and appearing
after his
resurrection to a group of women would not have been considered reliable witnesses at the time.
The whole of Jerusalem saw him die, and he was with his
disciples for 40 days
after his
resurrection.
The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church states: 1 «Christ announced the necessity of a spiritual regeneration «of water and the spirit» in his conversation with Nicodemus, and it has been commonly held that he instituted the Sacrament either at an unspecified date before His passion or
after his
resurrection, when he gave the
disciples the command to baptise in the Threefold Name.»
Even
after his
resurrection, Jesus's
disciples are still waiting for the emphasis to become political.
-- Paul never persecuted anyone (if Paul persecuted anyone, it would have been for a belief that he didn't hold, and you are saying that Paul invented the whole
resurrection story and convinced the «
disciples» to pretend later)-- So,
after Jesus death, the
disciples went back to their occupations and stayed that way for 10 years or so (the date of Pauls earliest letters)-- Then, Paul, a successful member of the Jewish authority decided to invent a new religion.
To the
disciples the
resurrection meant that all was not lost; Jesus was not dead but living, not defeated but triumphant; he was Messiah
after all.
