discusses climate change effects on human history is «Climate History and the Modern World» by Hubert Lamb.

discuss one thing: how to save the world from the catastrophic
effects of
climate change.
These factors — many of which are beyond our control and the
effects of which can be difficult to predict — include: credit, market, liquidity and funding, insurance, operational, regulatory compliance, strategic, reputation, legal and regulatory environment, competitive and systemic risks and other risks
discussed in the risk sections of our 2017 Annual Report; including global uncertainty and volatility, elevated Canadian housing prices and household indebtedness, information technology and cyber risk, regulatory
change, technological innovation and new entrants, global environmental policy and
climate change,
changes in consumer behavior, the end of quantitative easing, the business and economic conditions in the geographic regions in which we operate, the
effects of
changes in government fiscal, monetary and other policies, tax risk and transparency and environmental and social risk.
As
discussed throughout this assessment, the interplay of many variables complicates differentiation of the
effects of
climate change from other driving factors.
Where «dT» is the
change in the Earth's average surface temperature, «λ» is the
climate sensitivity, usually with units in Kelvin or degrees Celsius per Watts per square meter (°C / [W m - 2]-RRB-, and «dF» is the radiative forcing, which is
discussed in further detail in the Advanced rebuttal to the «CO2
effect is weak» argument.

climate change, greenhouse gases and the
effect they have on our mountains and planet as well as
discuss the possible solutions to the continuing problem.
Wangari Maathai
discusses the value of recognition as a part of the peace «puzzle», the real
effects of
climate change in Africa (7:55), the importance of recapturing her childhood memories (12:56), the evolution of Green Belt from a pilot project to a movement (18:03), the custodial role of governments (20:54), and her new book, The Challenge for Africa (27:50).
Likewise, they prefer to debate urban heat island
effects rather than to
discuss the rising temperature trends, other clear signs of rising temperatures, the positive feedbacks which are beginning to kick in so that
climate change will take on a life of its own independently of what we do in the future if
changes are not made now (# 111, «Storm World» post, comment # 141) and what such
climate change will imply for humanity as a whole (Curve manipulation, comment # 74, A Saturated Gassy Argument, comment # 116).
Thanks Pete and Gavin for your response in # 116 that the estimates for future temperature
change being
discussed in the
climate sensitivity studies (
discussed in this thread) do not generally take into account the
effect of increased temperature on initiating further natural carbon release.
Get Involved in th e Geoengineering Debate A lingering but critical policy question for DOD is what its role should be in discussions concerning geoengineering, i.e. the intentional manipulation of the
climate, which is often
discussed as a means to counter the
effects of the
climate change generated by human activity.
Discussing the health
effects of
climate change has been found to be one of the most effective and least polarizing approaches for conveying the message about
climate change.
This annual event will gather coffee supply chain actors across the industry to
discuss the future of sustainable coffee farming, and the
effects of
climate change on coffee growing regions.
Though not obvious, this claim is central to the tenet of the paper, and is an example of the cause - versus -
effect issue I repeatedly refer to in the past when
discussing some of the most fundamental errors made in the scientific «consensus» on
climate change.
An obsession with radiative theory when
discussing climate change is as unhelpful as would have been obsessing about the theory of gravity and ignoring the lift
effect of an aerofoil before heavier - than - air flight was proved to be practical.
[The aim of this article is to
discuss the
effects of
climate variability and
change on food production, risk of malnutrition, and incidence of weeds, insects, and diseases.
We predicted that an otherwise identical question would (i) elicit lower levels of existence beliefs when worded in terms of «global warming» rather than «
climate change,» and that (ii) this
effect would be more pronounced for respondents who self - identify as Republicans (as opposed to Democrats or Independents) for the reasons
discussed above.
For example, our results corroborate with others by showing that high impact journals typically report large
effects based on small sample sizes (Fraley and Vazire 2014), and high impact journals have shown publication bias in
climate change research (Michaels 2008, and further
discussed in Radetzki 2010).
On a subject as vast and complex as
climate change, even
climate scientists are subject to this
effect, we have
discussed this previously on the «hidden knowledge» thread https://judithcurry.com/2011/04/20/hidden-knowledge/

climate-170-times-faster-than-nature-study/ Seems to me that when
discussing the
effects of catastrophic
climate change, nothing less than 3 degrees and generally over four has been the standard.
The Wall Street Journal editors focus on an overestimation of surface warming in the past 15 years, neglecting to
discuss other impacts and time periods where models significantly underestimated the
effects of
climate change.
We're
discussing catastrophic anthropogenic
climate change (CACC)-- forecasts by some scientists that the
climate will
change in ways unfavorable to humanity, in magnitudes that will cause large - scale adverse
effects, at rates such that sufficient adaptation and mitigation will be difficult or impractical.
Folland's erroneous adjustment had been originally criticized at CA in 2005 here and further
discussed at length in March 2007 at CA here, a post in which I observed that no
climate scientist had made any attempt to validate Folland's bizarre adjustment and that correcting Folland's error (through a more gradual and later changeover to engine inlets than the worldwide overnight
change that Folland had postulated after Pearl Harbour) would have the
effect of increasing SST in the 1950s, in turn, potentially eliminating or substantially mitigating the downturn in the 1950s that was problematic for modelers.
The so called «spillover
effects» are now more
discussed as potential consequences of policies to address
climate change.

discusses the potential negative
effects of
climate change mitigation programmes on biodiversity.

effects») are considered inadmissible.
A
change in stratospheric water vapour because of the increase in methane over the industrial period would be a forcing of the
climate (and is one of the indirect
effects of methane we
discussed last year), but a
change in the tropopause flux is a response to other factors in the
climate system.
