This is no reason to not perform them, however, and the mistakes that make these lifts potentially dangerous are more often than not the result of imbalances (quad / hamstring imbalances leading to knees bowing in or forward during the squat),
disproportionately weak muscles (lower back rounding during the deadlift), or balance issues that absolutely need to be addressed for the athlete.
