To unscramble the light from cells buried within organisms, the researchers turned to adaptive optics — the same technology used by astronomers to provide clear views
of distant celestial objects through Earth's turbulent atmosphere.
On an extremely clear, dark night, this galaxy is just visible with the unaided eye, and is considered to be the
most distant celestial object visible without any optical help.
The new and more powerful space telescopes set to replace Hubble in the coming years will be able to uncover new details on very small and
very distant celestial objects throughout the universe.
During the summer of 2015, Raintree responded to Noguchi's sculptural works in stone with a site - specific installation at Socrates Sculpture Park, followed by a series of photographs in reaction to the Museum's collection, treating Noguchi works
as distant celestial objects.
As quantum physics develops, we may yet see even more accurate clocks, which will be useful to astrophysicists trying to fix the coordinates and movements
of distant celestial objects.
This model makes predictions that can be tested which include, among other things, the CMB radiation and the receding in all directions of
all distant celestial objects, both of which are verifiable and the tests for which are repeatable.
The new study marks an important development in our ability to assess the habitability of
distant celestial objects, while setting the stage for future missions.
