distinct giraffe species: isolation - by - distance, physical barriers to dispersal, general habitat differences resulting in habitat segregation, or regional differences in the
seasonal timing of
rainfall.

rainfall and drought, caused by the monsoon, extends northward into latitudes where
distinct temperature seasons also exist.
