It is a little softer than some of its competitors though, and it does suffer from
distortion at the maximum volume.
It's no home theater setup, of course, but you can comfortably play video or music and hear it across the room, with little to
no distortion at maximum volume.
They sounded great for a petite device, with good separation of sounds, a mix of tones, surprising loudness, and minimal
distortion at the maximum volume.
Speakerphone also worked well (as it should) with minimal
distortion at maximum volume.
Not exact matches
The integrated speakers are loud
at maximum volume and have a nice, clear mid-range sound, but bass can cause
distortion in some tracks.
And
at maximum volume, there's more noticeable
distortion and popping than we heard when we cranked the S4 all the way up.
Though there is a predictable lack of bass,
volume is high

As for low end, while the Tournament Headset doesn't produce overwhelming bass response, it thumps appreciably when playing our bass test track, The Knife's «Silent Shout,»
at maximum volume levels, and there's not a hint of
distortion.
At maximum and borderline unsafe
volume levels, it reproduced the throbbing subwoofer - like bass drum in Run The Jewels» «Legend Has It» with appreciable force and no
distortion.
The single speaker setup on the vivo V3Max is pretty powerful, with minor if any
distortions to be found
at maximum volume,
at which it is quite unbearably loud, mind you.Of course, with the AKM AK4375 32 - bit / 192kHz Hi - Fi DAC, you may want to plug in a decent pair of headphones to enjoy your tunes better.
The kick drum hits and deep bass synth notes get plenty of head - rattling force
at maximum (and unsafe)
volumes without a hint of
distortion.
Thus,
at maximum volume, we don't hear
distortion, but the track's deepest thumping gets reduced to a thin tap.
