wealth and not cooperation and sharing for the common good
of all, the accumulation
of personal and company
wealth and not their fair and equitable
distribution.
These are the dangers that constitute the challenge to democratic capitalism: class division resulting from an inequitable
distribution of our society's
wealth; the spiritual emptiness
of materialism; and the selfish pseudo-individualism that avoids
personal responsibility.
In fact, in its most basic form, socialism was a belief in more equitable
distribution of wealth, with everyone afforded the opportunity to thrive in accordance with
personal achievement regardless
of race or social position.
