By drawing on historical and international experiences of taxing wealth and providing new analysis of the potential fiscal and
distributional impacts of reform, the IPPR research aims to provide a more balanced picture of the scope for reforming wealth taxes in the UK.
In evidence on Monday, the IFS and Resolution Foundation both questioned the failure of the Treasury to set out
the distributional impact of the reforms across different income groups, saying the figures presented did not match what the government has provided in the past, or could provide now.
