in Carlsbad, Calif., where they got a chance to network and learn from insightful presentations on the latest consumer trends, the state of the
pet specialty channel and the various dynamics affecting all of the retail channels competing for
pet shoppers» dollars.
Many say that manufacturers that want to build a brand
in the
pet industry must start with local and regional
pet product
distributors.
«Those of us at PIJAC, responsible
pet manufacturers and
distributors see the real need for shelters, and many companies
in the
industry support shelters, but there is a consequence to having animals that are spayed and neutered become the majority of
pets out there,» Canning says.
Seeking Stability Fortunately, the climate
in the
pet industry's independent
distributor community since then appears to have stabilized.
Various technological advances and increased understanding about the biology of fish throughout this extensive history of fishkeeping led to a booming
