Trying to
do it GF is just frustrating in my experience, but I totally agree that when you are in the mood nothing smells or tastes better.
Guess Hamilton Beach didn't
do their GF Bread Baking homework??! I'm glad you were able to do a manual work - around.
Rudy's makes a packaged spelt tortilla that people rave about — why can't
they do a GF one?
I have a friend who needs to
do gf and egg free.
Not that
I do the GF thing, but for my stromboli, I use pesto instead of tomato sauce on the roll and then put out pizza sauce for dipping!
But
do GF people actually find such recipes valuable?
So many people are
doing GF and / or vegan that it's nice to see such a variety of recipes!

done a GF version.

You have no idea how much I wish my stomach could
do gluten right now:p Perhaps I'll give it a shot with a
gf blend and see what happens, the avocado in there might make it okay.
Finding wheat /
GF baking recipes that also don't include some kind of sugar has been a struggle for me.
I can not eat coconut, dried fruits nor
do I tolerate other flours apart from
GF flour (as I find them just too heavy for my stomach).
Family didn't even know it was
GF until they saw me eating it.
I have celiac disease (going on almost 20 years
GF) but because it's so trendy, I find it difficult to make people believe me that I actually can't eat gluten and am not just
doing it for the fame.
The reason you can get away with
doing these in the oven instead of frying them in oil is because the almond grains are too dense to get soggy in the oven like other
GF breadings.
I used only half of the sugar, because I didn't want the bread to be quite that sweet, and I changed up the
GF flours used a bit with the addition of sorghum flour.
I made these for lunch, substituting gluten - free oats for the bread crumbs, because I didn't have any
GF bread crumbs.
Only one person told me she didn't care for the texture with the
GF flour, but the others couldn't even tell.
I'd follow the instructions for the whole wheat flour since it may need a bit more liquid but
GF flour should
do the trick!
Don't be afraid, Nicole — look at all the people who are no longer afraid of
GF cooking because you told us to take the leap!

ooo, this is / was too crunchy and dry for me i didn't have lime, so I used rice vinegar (
gf) I had to add water at the end and steam / boil.
i'd suggest just looking for a brownie recipe that doesn't rely too heavily on flour, picking up any old bag of all purpose
GF flour, and substituting it straight across.
It also doesn't mention that some celiacs can't eat oats at all, even
gf ones, so they should be removed from the diet entirely and then reintroduced carefully when the person's GI issues are under control to see if they are OK.
They
do have a * tiny * bit of a grainy texture, but I expected that since they are gluten - free, and
GF flours tend to be a bit more grainy.

GF Breads were we live the only one I could get was Manna I still like but it cost more as it's smaller in size an not sliced for Rudi's I can't eat it as it
does have Wheat An Gluten in it as well as Corn, Soy Ectra, An the only other Rice Bread that I got in the beginning was something Life can't remember sorry as I have been eating UDI's since Our Local Health Store started caring it I just wish they had a wilder virarety than what they have out as most are still all Wheat an for me they keep in in the freezer not out on the shelf what I Miss is good crackers that don't have a after taste plus French Bread, Waffles, An Pancakes For Breakfast An For Sweets Cookies, An Other Things.
They were moist, fudgy — very fudgy, actually — and tender, and though they don't have quite the same texture as «real» brownies (if you've ever used brown rice flour, you might have noticed that it can give a very slightly grainy feel to some baked goods), they're very good for a quick and
gf fix.
I don't know how it compares to the
GF version, but it really turned out yummy!
Hard to beat for the price, as are the other
gf products at TJ's, unfortunately they don't sell wine here in CT..
I just started baking with
GF flour and I'm not entirely used the texture of
GF baked stuff so I
did feel there was a little more substitute - y feeling but it was still really really good, I am definitely making this again.
We got an absolutely awesome (I mean that) «
GF beer - batter fish fry recipe» from About.com — you can substitute club soda for the beer if you don't have / want
GF beer.
I
did find a restaurant here with
GF Fish & Chips, but it's not quite the same.
They
do have a tiny bit of a grainy texture, as most
GF desserts
do, but it didn't really bother me.
I'm really sorry you're going to have to take a step back in
GF baking, but I can really relate to what you said about how you had been cooking and baking everything you could «just to prove that going
GF did not mean eternal suffering.»
Do you have access to a
GF pumpkin pancake recipe or mix?
I think they smell gross, and they
do not behave as any of the other all purpose
GF flours
do.
I
did not have oat or almond flour, so I just swapped those out for a total of 2 cups of organic,
GF long grain brown rice flour.
