do NaNoWriMo for two reasons — I wanted to concentrate on finishing up the writing guide on Evernote, and I should be revising previous novels I've written in a month.

do NaNoWriMo from the fall.

doing NaNoWriMo this year, saving your writing marathon for another month — or against the whole idea — there's something for you in this issue.
If you want to have some fun and get a bit of group discipline to write a 50,000 + word novel, there may be no better way than by
doing NaNoWriMo.
If you're
doing NaNoWriMo this year, think about how you'll sell your novel once it's done.
As I explained, I won't be
doing NaNoWriMo this year, but I will be writing — my current Regency romance is shaping up nicely.

me doing NaNoWriMo.
Not every writer wants to write a novel by
doing NaNoWriMo of course.
After saying all that, I have to admit that I won't be
doing NaNoWriMo this year as I have rewrites to do for Pentecost in order to have it ready to enter the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards in Jan 2010.
In fact, to be honest, I always thought that people who
did NaNoWriMo were way overachievers and I couldn't understand why they would want to do that.

did NaNoWriMo through to 2011 when I put out that first book, through all the editing process, through a structural edit, line edits, proofreading, launch — pain — through to when I got a New York agent and then sold like 100,000 copies of something.
It was
doing the NaNoWriMo back in November, which started me off in the right direction.

But I have never seen students write with as much enthusiasm as they
do each November when my 8th - graders participate in the Young Writers Program of National Novel Writing Month (a.k.a.
NaNoWriMo).
Most writers can not successfully write and publish a novel in that short amount of time and actually
do a good job (and please don't even get me started on the writers who write 50,000 words during
NaNoWriMo and then publish it without even thinking twice about it, UGH!).

That's two full months after
NaNoWriMo wraps up, so there should be plenty of time to get it
done right.
I wanted to participate in

Nanowrimo authors.

NaNoWriMo is?
I've been taking part in
NaNoWriMo for the past 4 years and always manage to break the 50K barrier in November but I
do have periods that I really, really have to force myself to
do the 500 words and sometimes even fail at that.
Okay, don't panic... it hasn't been quite a full week since
NaNoWriMo kicked off.
Smashwords and
Nanowrimo encourage them to
do so.
And that's a far more manageable number than the 1,266 you need to
do every day to win
NaNoWriMo.
Most writers took part in
NaNoWriMo, even if they didn't write fiction.
And even though I'll be renting a castle for
Nanowrimo, and that's a big, scary goal on its own, I don't really feel stressed about it.

NaNoWriMo efforts languish on your hard drive.
I don't participate in
NaNoWriMo, because I don't write fast enough and I'm always in the middle of writing something.

NaNoWriMo organization has supplied forum space for writers to post in, but it's tough for many people to
do much more than get answers to impersonal questions.
I made a free «Bookselling Bootcamp» challenge while staying at the 5 star Regent Hotel Montenegro (I wanted to be comfortable going into
Nanowrimo, and I also
did a 2 - week sugar fast).
