On «The Work Talk Show,» hosts DJ Waldow and Nick Westergaard
interview guests about «how work gets
done today,» including life hacks, app suggestions and other tips on how to run your work life more efficiently.
That's a lot easier than you might think; I
did some radio
interviews while walking, was a
guest on a couple of podcasts... you can get a lot
done while you're walking.
At a few points in early
interviews, the
guest's response left me speechless (something my wife claims doesn't happen often enough).
2) Popular bloggers served as RESOURCES for their readers, which meant that they didn't always have to generate a post themselves, but regularly included

You can
do a virtual book tour with other similar blogs that you have set up relationships with and
do guest posts or video
interviews based on your book.
You have to find and research
guests,
do the
interview itself then the editing, show notes and the marketing of the show.

On a virtual book tour it's a good idea to vary the content, asking some of the tour hosts to
do a book review, while providing others with
guest posts,
interviews, or videos.
You can
do this with a blog,
guest posting,
interviews on other blogs or local media, social media profiles, and lots of other tools.
Contact bloggers who reviewed your book to see if you could
do author
interviews,
guest posts, chats, and book giveaways.
Maybe the opportunity to be a return
guest, to
do more with the show or publication, or maybe it's just the opportunity a media
interview presents to go after larger media.

Things I recommend which you may already be

I agree with you, though, that Len has
done a really impressive job of finding
guests of wide - ranging subjects and perspectives, and
interviewing them in a way that elicits very interesting and useful information for the audience.

interviewed each other on marketing / publishing subjects that we're experienced with.
Blog tours, forum posts,

do it, you will.
To pay attention when I saw writer friends embark on blog tours,
doing interviews and
guest posts every day for weeks and felt my heart pound at the very idea.
BOOK REVIEW / VOTING SWAPS: There are many groups on Facebook, Google + and Goodreads that offer authors the chance to get / give reviews, vote up each others» books on Goodreads» Listopia or Amazon's Listmania, vote on reviews on Amazon, and
do other deeds for each other (
interviews,
guest blog, blog hops, etc.).

do interviews and engage in the comments sections of popular blogs and forums.
Getting reviews,
doing blog tours, posting
guest blogs, even radio
interviews are priceless in marketing your book and I mean that as a double entendre»: they are usually free and you get sometimes huge audience exposure!
And I can understand a client's desire to say, in advance of the book promotion campaign, «I'll
do an
interview that comes up except A, B, and C» (where A, B, and C are radio talk show hosts who make their living beating up or mocking or humiliating
guests just for the sport of it).
Most tours consist of a mixture of
guest posts and
interviews so ask the blogger what they would like to
do; this is usually what they are most comfortable with.
Offer to
do podcast
interviews or
guest posts on other author blogs.
Although I don't
do much to promote my books, when I have a new one coming out, I try and
do a few
interviews and
guest blog posts so that I can tweet these out for my followers and add them to my Facebook author page.
A note of caution: Don't focus on
guest post or
interview opportunities strictly tied to the writing and publishing community (unless that is your true audience).
