But look at it this way: if you do rotator - cuff exercises, a few years down the road you will still be able to
do heavy chest, back, shoulder and arm work, whereas those who did not strengthen their inner shoulders will be using pansy - ass weights trying in vain to save whatever muscle they already built.
If you are
doing a heavy chest workout and additional heavy overhead pressing each week, then performing an additional 60 reps of heavy tricep training is going to be too much.

heavy in a heap on your
chest.
This applies to all workouts in your life, but it's especially important for
chest training because people often start by overloading the
chest, as if it's the only muscle which doesn't require any warming up before the
heavy work.
There is nothing wrong with training triceps or shoulders 48 hours after
chest workout, except the fact that you won't be able to use maximal weights to build muscle, because your triceps and shoulders will be tired after all that
heavy benching you
did 2 days earlier.
The most effective
chest workouts are those alternating very
heavy with lighter weights, so if you want massively pumped
chest muscles for a hotter summer look, make sure to start with a very
heavy weight, with which you can only
do 2 - 3 repetitions.
Take for example the pushing day: You work your
chest, shoulders and triceps in one day.This gives your pushing muscles more recovery time than splitting them into separate days of the week, where you may find yourself
doing triceps or shoulders just 48 hours after a
heavy chest workout.

chest but can't get to the gym and don't have a lot of
heavy dumbbells and barbells at home?
When I started
doing the opposite — more compound movements than isolation, and more
heavy training — I started seeing real changes in my
chest (and entire physique) for the first time in a long time.
If you are
doing a lot of
heavy compound training for your
chest and back then you will want to aim for a little less reps of your arms.
Even if you're a newbie to weight training, skip the machines in the circuit that you
do need for safe
heavy lifting on leg press,
chest press, and seated row or lat pull down and
do bicep curls and triceps exercises (see below) using dumbbells.
T - bar rows with
chest or abdominal support can be a nice break if you have recently performed thigh exercises and you don't have the power to support your weight plus the
heavy load associated with T - bar rows.
This sequence is very important because if you
do triceps before
chest, the triceps will fail before
chest and you can not lift
heavier in Bench press thus not stimulating
chest enough.
Also, I just want to mention, I have suffered shoulder impingement lifting
heavy and have struggled to to
do any powerlifts with my shoulders and
chest because of it... I have
done physio, chiro and nothing helped my shoulder until I started
doing very light weight high rep shoulder workouts... I kinda figured because the shoulders are smaller, they require high reps, but I never would have though legs,
chest and back would also give you a lot of benefit through high reps.
So... How
do you overload your
chest without
heavy weights?
For example, when I reach a plateau on dumbbell
chest presses, I find
doing heavy sets on the
chest press machine for a couple of weeks gives me the extra strength I need to move up to the next dumbbell level.
However, it worked good for
chest and triceps and I didn't have to go as
heavy which gave my joints a little bit of a break although the elbow was really hurting again today.
I
did modify the
chest day to alternate
heavy bench one week to bands the next (speed) and then to board work on the 3rd week.
Overloading them with
heavy weights when
doing chest and shoulder presses and pull - downs and rows for the back can lead to tearing of these relatively tiny muscles if they are not properly strengthened.
