make mobile payments on the latter device.
Its rival Samsung Pay uses magnetic secure transmission (MST) technology, which lets you
make mobile payments on terminals that don't have NFC — just old - school magnetic card readers.
Android Wear 2.0
does introduce support for Android Pay, but the Vapor
does not have NFC which means you won't be able to use it to
make mobile payments via the Android Pay platform.
While that might
make sense from a marketing standpoint, it
does mean that Samsung will be very late in the
mobile payments game against Google and Apple.
Whereas the ZenFone 2 supports NFC, the ZenFone 2 Laser
does not, which means you can't use this phone to
make mobile payments using services like Android Pay.
