done something similar to you, I bought a
duplex and spend a bunch of money
on renovating it.
If
on the other hand, you
do most everything yourself, and keep in the house what's good and working, you can get buy with even $ 10k rehab for a
duplex.
I
do take debt out
on my home — which is a
duplex where I live in half and rent out the other.
Given that, for financial reasons, it is best that we wait until 2019/2020 to
do this I have been thinking about getting a
duplex or multi-unit townhouse / condo in whichever market we decide to focus
on by the end of 2018.
