Oh my gosh, I promise you you can totally make this I'm actually so not a baker either (learning slowly, but definitely at war with my oven more times than not) and this recipe is practically foolproof, especially if you want to skip the swirl and just
do plain green.

I
did add more
greens than what is called for (beet
greens and chard) and used vegetable broth instead of
plain water (a bit extra too, to accommodate the extra veggies).
I think
greens are my favorite smoothie add - ins, though I also like to add
plain instant oats after it's
done.
If you don't have access to
Green Valley organic lactose free sour cream, you should (a) ask your local health foods store to get it because it's freakin» amazing or (b) try
plain greek yogurt in it's place.
1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 medium onion, diced 1 large garlic clove, minced 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated — I love fresh ginger but didn't have any) 3/4 teaspoons garam masala 3/4 teaspoons curry powder 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 2 to 3 cups vegetable broth as needed 1 sweet potato, cut into 1/2 inch cubes 3/4 cup dried lentils (I used
green) 1 bay leaf 1/2 pound
greens such as swiss chard, collards, kale, etc., center ribs removed and leaves thinly sliced (I used about 7 big leaves) 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, or more to taste Zest of 1/2 lime 1 tablespoon lime juice
Plain Greek yogurt and sliced almonds for topping, if desired
I didn't personally care for the consistency of my
green tahini sauce (too thick and heavy - more so than described), so I added olive oil and
plain yogurt to taste, and preferred it this way.
I added cilantro,
green onion, shredded cheese (I could have
done without) and some
plain Greek yogurt.
I wanted a little more visual interest than
plain green, but I don't have cookie cutters, so I decided to try a swirl pattern.
My market was out of chives so I had to use all
green onions and I used
plain white wine vinegar but I don't think that made a difference.
1 cup oats 3/4 cup almond flour 1/4 cup chickpea flour 2/3 cup brown rice flour 2 tablespoons arrowroot starch (cornstarch gets the job
done too) 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon allspice 1/2 black pepper 1/2 teaspoon sea salt 6 dried prunes 1 large carrot 1/2
green apple 2 very ripe bananas 2/3 cup buttermilk or
plain yogurt zest of 1 orange 1/3 cup olive or melted coconut oil 3 eggs
It's about re-purposing to be
green and sewing to be practical, because our grandmothers
did it and we can to —
plain and simple.
If you aren't a fan of drinking loads of
plain water or if it doesn't quite hit the spot, you can try
green or herbal tea instead.

greens, other non-starchy veg, legumes and 2 pieces of fruit.
While you might want to drink your
green tea
plain, I don't think it is necessarily wise to jump to lots of other conclusions that are not supported by the evidence.
And if you
do drink one too many glasses of bubbly, in between glasses of
plain water (the best rehydrator of them all) treat yourself to a nutrient - packed, antioxidant
green juice with cucumber, cilantro,
green apple, celery to jump start your body's hydration.
How long
do I wait to eat or drink anything else an would it loose the effect if I added
green tea or honey instead of
plain water
Sure, you can pick up a basic
plain black or

As a former
Green Party member and voter I understand their concern for the planet, but to just listen to the media / watch movies such as An Inconvenient Truth etc, without
doing due diligence is
plain stupid.
I was amazed at the Government and
Green responses to the serious flooding in the English Midlands a couple of years ago, when increassed rainfall due to alleged Man - made Global Warming was trumpeted as a cause for the flooding; anyone who pointed out that generations of covering flood
plains with buildings, concrete and ashphalt was quite a dangerous thing to
do was derided as a simpleton or an ignoramus.
