I wanted to
do something special
with them so I came up
with three different ways to
do some holiday decorating
with these lovely
pinecones.
With 1,357 tips, it doesn't appear as robust as some of the others, and the white - tipped
pinecones and glitter - tipped branches might make the tree a bit dated.
You could
do the same
with other holiday items as well —
pinecones, jingle bells, whatever collection you have in holiday stash.
I
did put away the
pinecones that sit in a bowl on the coffee table and (when I get them
done) they will be replaced
with some decoupaged eggs —
done in music sheets and newpaper for a subtle look.
Also, side note, I bought a big box of 40 little
pinecones with wire stems for $ 6 on a whim at Target for super cheap, and thought I was going to return them because I didn't know what I was buying them for..
Mantel decorating is easily
done with some faux snow - dusted plants or
pinecones.
The last thing I
did was to add a battery operated light string on the top of the mantle
with the glitter
pinecones.
We don't get much of a fall here, but I like to pretend in October
with fall candles, mums and
pinecone vase fillers.
Military life is something else, sometimes you just have to embrace it and enjoy all the little things that come
with it whether it's good or bad I was definitely thinking about
doing a tutorial on the wreaths because I learned that you should use high temp glue and a high temp glue gun instead of the low temp (which I used for the first one I made and the
pinecones weren't sticking together very well).
I have a huge box of
pinecones just waiting for me to
do something
with them love that is almost free if you use ribbon you already have.
I don't know about where you live, but if possible, decorating
with Pinecones is a great idea and completely free to get the main product if you're willing to go
pinecone hunting in the woods for a day!
I too have
done my home very natural this year
with pinecones and natural wreaths.
But don't overthink it, you can make adorable place cards
with a piece of paper or a sticker paired
with a bud vase, ornament, or a
pinecone!
Natural items are my favorite things to decorate
with year - round and Christmas is no different -
pinecones and pine branch clippings mix beautifully
with palm fronds and seashells, don't you think??
Once it was all
done, I went back
with some tiny
pinecones and filled in some gaps that I thought showed too much.
I decorated
with lights, fruit, fresh
pinecones and grapevines like Martha would
do.
