Using your waffle iron for a
cake or muffin
mix works the same way that it
does with waffle batter, and you get the fun shape of a waffle AND the sweet taste of
cake!

I used to make it
with a rich chocolate
cake mix, using vanilla yogurt for the oil and it pretty good like that and if you don't want to make a scratch

do that and you'll be quite pleased.

While I'm never shy about pulling out the
mixer and creaming up some butter and sugar for a
cake or for cookies, I
do love a recipe where I can just stir it all together
with a spoon.
As I tend to
do, I started off
with a boxed
cake mix, doctored it up a bit and topped the whole thing off
with a made from scratch frosting.
I don't really like pumpkin, but this looks really good
with the pecans and dry
cake mix..
I
did with my favorite Pillsbury Gluten Free Yellow
Cake mix.
And if gluten isn't an issue or you don't want to use all the crazy flours, you can make this
cake with regular all purpose flour or your favorite all purpose gluten free flour
mix, substituting 1:1 ratio
with all the gluten free flours (1 1/4 cups or 175 grams all purpose for the dark chocolate, 2 cups or 280 grams all purpose for the butterscotch and vanilla bean
cakes).

Hiya — we don't have graham crackers in the UK — I guess digestives are our nearest alternative but they are round rather than oblong; I wondered if this could be made
with wafer fingers / biscuits instead or would they go soggy under the peanut butter and choccie
cake mix....
I have
done it in a few different ways - for
Cake / Pie fillings, I
do a few teaks to it, for a more fluffy, less dense texture: cream the butter sugar and egg mixture first (before heating)
with my hand
mixer.
I've made this
cake once before and it was great, but my icing was a little off in texture and appearance, I think because I don't have a standing
mixer (
did the best I could
with my hand held one).
I will also be posting some «semi-homemade» whoopie pie recipes within the next week, for those of you who have a bunch of
cake mix in the pantry and not too sure what to
do with all of it.
i will say that i took a few liberties
with the spice / cheese
mix (i used the parmesan but also added some sharp white cheddar, i used the flour and the scallions but since i don't like thyme i just used my penzey's fox point seasoning) and i baked it in my little 7 × 10 ″ ikea glass casserole dish because i don't have any
cake / pie pans.
So I
mixed the brown sugar
with the cinnamon and sprinkled it over the top and when the pudding
cake was
done and I scooped it into serving dishes, I sprinkled butterscotch chips over the top and served
with a small scoop of salted caramel ice cream.
Cover it tightly
with a plastic wrap (or
do like I
do and leave it on the counter and flip a huge
mixing bowl upside down to completely cover the
cake and the
cake plate).
I had tried to replicate them
with a different
cake mix recipe last month and those didn't turn out very good.
I have seen these cookies
done recently, though, just calling for a
cake mix, so I'm guessing they will work
with the new size as well.
I
did a little research and discovered that you can make amazing
cake donuts
with a
cake mix, and just a few other ingredients.
Do you think I can substitute the
cake mix with simple, homemade sponge
cake to which I can add spinach for beautiful green colour and pistachio paste?

cake, i
do bake them too, and i know its such a long process to make the poppy seeds filling, so for the last few years im buying a can of poppy seed already
mix with other good staff in polish store and its much easier.
Made cupcakes
with this recipe - I'm GF and allergic to carrots but my man can eat anything and his fav is carrot
cake... HE LOVED these and so
did I. I made the batter and left the carrots out until the end so I could
do my half without carrots, then
mixed them in for his.
Hi Jenny, eggs are the one thing I haven't been able to test a solid substitution for as of yet since the
cake is pretty delicate even
with them... I don't think flax egg will be binding enough, you'd probably be better adding 2 Tbsp psylum husk plus 1/2 c liquid (
mix the psylum through the flour,
mix the liquid into the batter) or using one of those egg replacers that have a potato starch base and following the instructions on the packet.
The
cake batter went well; I don't have a lot of experience whipping egg whites, but I didn't have any problems using my hand
mixer with the whip attachment.
I decorated the
cake with some stencils and cocoa and sugar
mixed together (didn't have any powdered sugar).
It's been on my to -
do list to come up
with a from - scratch version that skips the
cake mix and instant pudding, but I'm a little intimidated that it won't live up to the original.

What you should end up
with is a
mix that appears rather like
cake crumbs, but that when pressed, will easily stick together (if the mixture
does not hold together well, add more dates).
Reduce
mixer speed to low and add dry ingredients in 3 additions, alternating
with buttermilk in 2 additions, beginning and ending
with dry ingredients (
do not overmix; it will cause
cake to buckle and split).
I suggest when you add the liquids,
do not use a
mixer, gently fold the liquid
with the solids... this will help to make a less dense
cake.
However, when I went to take the loaves out of the pan, all of the raisins stuck to the bottom (I
did mix them in
with the flour), and the honey
cake (although very good), had no raisins in it (and that» s my family's favorite extra), so what would you suggest.
Stir batter once by hand
with a rubber spatula (
Do not over
mix cake batter otherwise you will end up
with dense cupcakes).

I just made this at home — i live in spain so i looked up a «recipe» for the yellow

did nt have the ingredients for the frosting so i just
mixed this sort of 0 % fat riccotta cheese
with sugar and a lot of shredded coconut.
