Both handheld and
docked modes look bright and colorful, and seem to run at a smooth enough framerate regardless of the way you stick with.
Not exact matches
In
docked mode the frame rate seems a little more steady but the 720p resolution doesn't
look so hot when you begin blowing it up to larger screens — neither does the texture work.
The footage above is
docked, but the game arguably
looks at its best in portable handheld
mode — the 720p resolution holds up better there, and the game seems to run with an unlocked frame rate, shooting for 60 fps and sometimes getting there with uneven but decent performance.
The Nintendo Switch version not only
looks great in the handheld
mode, testing it out in
docked mode, I was impressed by the scalability of the visuals.
The visuals
look great no matter if you play on the handheld or in
docked mode on the big screen.
From the
looks of it, Google has tweaked the tablet UI on the Nexus 7 as we are able to see a smartphone like
dock in the bottom of the UI in portrait
mode, but we can not confirm this yet.
It's important to note that the presentation here is One Piece Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition's greatest asset, and furthermore,
looks stunning in both
Docked and Handheld
modes on the Nintendo Switch, running at a cool 60 frames per second across both
modes.
As I began with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild the first thing myself and two other attendees next to me did was remove the Switch from its
docking station to see how Breath of the Wild
looked and performed in tablet
mode.
On PlayStation 4 we're
looking at 1536x864 while Switch drops all the way to 1200x675, in
docked mode and something in the region of 844x475 while playing detached.
With a UI that's made with touchscreens in mind, this game is a dream to operate in handheld
mode, although in
docked mode it doesn't
look nearly as good.
DX has been updated with brighter colors and crisper graphics, although this is a game that
looks much better in handheld
mode than
docked.
Characters
looks great and everything runs at a smooth 60 fps either in the
dock or in handheld
mode.
I personally found the game played perfectly fine in the
dock or in handheld
mode, and while it
looked fabulous on the TV, as usual I preferred it in my hands, bright lights and all the flares of it, flashing in my face.
The resolution is noticeably lower,
looking to not be far above 720p, if at all, in
docked, while much lower in handheld
mode.
Both departments are decent enough for when you're playing the game in portable
mode, as they do
look and sound quite outdated when in
docked mode.
The graphics
look fantastic on the Nintendo Switch, both in portable
mode and while
docked.
Visually, Rive: Ultimate Edition
look fantastic and runs at a smooth 60 FPS in 1080p when
docked and 720p in handheld
mode.
If we compare this to the Nintendo Switch version, it runs at 900p in
Docked Mode although the Portable resolution is disappointing and runs at 540p resulting in a slightly blurry
look in handheld
mode.
On the Nintendo Switch the game
looks as good and runs as just well in both handheld and
docked mode.
Luis Zuno's pixel art for Elliot Quest is beautiful, and the game
looks stunning running in both
docked and handheld
mode.
I was initially caught off guard on how sharp and clean the visuals
look, both in portable
mode and when
docked.
In addition to the release date, we also saw some gameplay in
docked TV
mode, giving us a glimpse of what the game will
look like on Nintendo's console.
