LG billed the V30 as a major leap forward in imaging, what with its f / 1.6
aperture and real glass lens for enhanced image clarity (on the main camera), however the actual results don't distinguish this phone from a class
of very high performers near the V30's lofty price point.
But shutter speed and
aperture are way more important creatively, and don't have the significant downside
of ISO.
There is a trade - off, though: while the Note 8 retains a little more detail and manages to expose dim shots better right off the bat (a function
of its slightly better
aperture), the Pixels
did a better job at reproducing colors naturally.
In most cases, there are a range
of combinations
of shutter speed and
aperture that will
do it.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro's Wide
Aperture mode
does a very respectable job
of blurring the background in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
The low light performance
of the V30 + is pretty average as result often turn out to be a little grainy and the camera app is also little laggy in low light environments — the large
aperture does pull in more light and makes even objects in dark areas visible, but this benefit is offset by the amount
of noise that creeps into the images.
This just goes to show that megapixels don't matter anymore, and it's specs like the U11's giant 1.4 µm pixel size and wide f / 1.7
aperture that can make all
of the difference in the world.

The Samsung phones have somewhat better low - light
aperture performance (f / 1.7) with the selfie cams than the iPhones (f / 2.2)
do, but unless you plan to

of your video conferences in dark rooms, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
The lack
of a dual camera on the S9 is a bummer for sure, but the single camera is still an excellent performer (even if we don't see amazing benefits from Dual
Aperture).
Bokeh, however, again worked a treat, if one
did not obsess too much over the edges — you can not adjust the
aperture size at the time
of taking the snap, but can
do so afterwards and again, you can choose what part
of the photograph to keep in focus even after the picture has been taken.
In the front - facing camera (FFC) area, Sony
did jump the 5.1 MP to a huge 13MP, giving it an
aperture of f / 2.0 and 22 mm lens for excellent selfies and video chats.
The RGB sensor
does have OIS, and both have an
aperture of f / 2.2.
In general, though, if you want better background blur you should use this mode, as it
does a respectable job
of simulating wide -
aperture DSLR lenses.
The 8MP camera on the back
of the Tab S2 8.0 is hardly up to par with even those found in Samsung's high - end phones last year, though it
does have a fast f / 1.9
aperture and the same camera interface when you power it up.
Don't let the lack
of OIS, or the missing sub f2
aperture on the camera lens fool you in thinking this is sub-par camera.
