did 2/3 cup of
Arrowroot powder.
I didn't really succeed at getting the sauce to thicken, so I'll add
arrowroot powder next time.

did add the
arrowroot powder.
The only thing I substituted was I didn't have potato starch, so I first tried tapioca starch, and when the batter was too runny, i then added
arrowroot powder, and when it was still too runny, i added some flour.
I used toasted carob
powder,
arrowroot, and
did not add the almonds nor the carob chips (but I will be making those soon!).
Alicia, you can substitute with
arrowroot powder or if you
do not have any celiac allergies you can use plain flour.
That said, it probably requires less patience to reduce your sauces to the desired thickness than it
does to think through the decision of whether or not to use
arrowroot powder based upon your personal interpretation of the Paleo diet.

I used

I'm pretty sure
arrowroot powder is a no for GAPS, but if you're not trying to stay away from carbs to that extent, it
does work well as a thickener — and it makes great cookie kind of things.

arrowroot powder goes on smoothly, leaves the skin feeling silky, and doesn't cake.
If you have dark hair but don't want to use cocoa
powder in your hair, just use plain
arrowroot and apply before going to bed the night before or at least 2 hours in advance so that it has time to absorb and you won't get the fake - gray - looks - like - a-wig look.
