Do not take
Burdock without talking to your doctor first if you are taking diabetic medicine (examples: insulin, Glucophage (R) metformin, DiaBeta (R) Glynase (R) glyburide).
Do not take if you are allergic to
Burdock, Blue Flag, or other plants part of the Asteraceae family including marigold, artichoke, or daisies.
Basically, there's no evidence that
burdock root works for detoxification, and even if it
did, this herbal supplement would still be pointless.
The exact mechanism is unknown at this point, but
burdock root
does contain some medicinally useful compounds like tannins, arctigenin, arctiin, beta - eudesmol, caffeic acid, and chlorogenic acid.
If you want to detoxify your body then you don't need
burdock; just skip breakfast and follow a dietary system known as «intermittent fasting».
However,
burdock does have strong anti-inflammatory powers and it contains prebiotics like inulin which can improve your gut health.
In addition,
burdock can cleanse the liver, allowing it to
do a better job of detoxifying the blood.
Dr. de Souza Predes from the Department of Biological Sciences at the Universidade Estadual
do ParanĂ¡ in Brazil and colleagues recently published research investigating the ability of
burdock to improve liver health.
I don't recommend it for daily use, as it's quite potent with its combination of aloe vera hydrosol,
burdock extract, papaya extract, peppermint essential oil, cajeput essential oil and grapefruit essential oil, but it's damn good at
doing exactly what it says it's going to
do: Remove all that buildup!
