For seniors, this easily equates to
larger fonts and more reading
done on a single
screen.
I didn't have time to
do any reading
on the new Oasis, but my first impression is that the
larger screen will be a pleasant improvement in Kindle reading.
Google Maps
on recent Android devices is faster, has more features, and phones with bigger
screen do provide a
larger, more readable map.
Reading books
on the DX is even easier, because with the much
larger screen surface, you don't have to turn the page as often as you
do on the Kindle 2.
One drawback though is there doesn't seem to be any way to connect it to an external display so it can't be used with a projector for presentations and can't be hooked up to a TV for the odd time someone wants to playback video
on a
larger screen.
What you're left with is a device that is — great for reading books, quite good for reading articles and blog posts, quite good with newspapers and magazines, and good with PDFs (though it can't
do magic and PDFs meant for A4 size sheets or
large computer
screens will look rather inelegant
on the Kindle 3's 6 ″
screen).
