According to the latest American Pet Product Association Pet
Owners» Survey, pet ownership in America
continues to rise, now standing at 77.5 million
dogs and 93.6 million
cats.
In addition to our shared accomplishments, what
continues to impress me most is the variety of ways that pets arrive at our shelter — the unique circumstances that surround each —
and how our team stands at the ready to respond to the needs of these pets, their
owners and in some cases, the advocates for each of these
cats and dogs.
I really have seen some amazing results by vets treating «outside the box» when the diagnosis has been vague or undetermined,
and IMHO, «it must be what you're feeding him» is a complete & unconscionable cop - out by a lazy vet who's trying to make you, the
owner / gaurdian, feel at fault... But IME, we've personally had 18
dogs & 36
cats transition to 4Health in the past year, are
continuing with 4Health formulas in their new homes & are doing beautifully,
and I can only speak to my experience, after all.
There are a host of broad exemptions that will
continue to allow breeding for (1) use of
dogs as service, guide or therapy animals, by search
and rescue, law enforcement
and other government agencies; (2) use of
dogs for herding or as livestock guardian
dogs or hunting
dogs; (3)
dogs or
cats registered with the American Kennel Club, the
Cat Fancier Association or other recognized registry or trained
and kept for the purpose of show, field trials or agility trials;
and (4)
dogs or
cats whose
owner has obtained an unaltered animal permit.

We have
continued these clinics several times each year, both in Kingston
and other centers such as Negril, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay
and Falmouth, providing free sterilization for stray
dogs and cats, as well as for pets whose
owners can not afford traditional veterinary care.
