Running your dog or cat to any old vet is usually something very simple to do and dog and cat owners don't typically have to think about what to do if their personal vet isn't available, but when your small animal or exotic pet is in trouble, it isn't always that simple.
According to recent survey by the ASPCA, more than one - third of dog and cat owners don't have disaster preparedness plans in place for their pets.

More than 48 percent of both
cat and dog owners surveyed indicated the primary reason for not
doing so was because their pet wasn't sick or injured.
Most
owners understand that
cats are not
dogs, but many
do not realize that
