If there are other places you frequent with your pet, like the
dog park or a particular hiking trail, make note
of veterinarians in those
areas as well.
For example, I love the thought process in rule 9 which states «An owner
of a
dog creating a disturbance or not being properly controlled can be evicted from an off - leash

Develop a puppy's social skills early by regularly exposing him to other
dogs, people and various environments before he's 12 weeks
of age; just be sure to avoid high - traffic

If the puppy is not adequately protected with the required vaccinations as well as other prophylactic interventions, it's advisable to not expose the puppy to the danger
of getting infected by not taking him to places where there are other
dogs,
parks, animal shelters or any public
areas.

If your leash has been around a high bacteria
area, like the
dog park, there is an increased risk
of fecal contamination.
A word
of caution to those who live in urban
areas which have
dog parks.
In some
areas of the country more people are less inclined to spay or neuter their pets, have fenced back yards, walk their
dogs, are more inclined to let cats run loose, have no problem with backyard breeding or seeing someone in a
parking lot selling free kittens.

Before your puppy has all
of his shots, it's not a good idea to take him to the
dog park or to any other
area where he might be exposed to other
dogs.
If space is not available be sure to take them to the local
dog park or open
area so they have room to run around and get rid
of excess energy.
Your

dog park, or maybe you, the owner, bring them into your home on your shoes or pants; it's hard to say how or why your
dog gets the fleas, but it's as much a part
