A pet store associated with one of the above organizations would
also be allowed to sell cats and
dogs, and individuals who breed and sell
dogs on their premises would
also be exempt from the
ordinance, as the draft reads now.
The
ordinance also covers the display of
dogs and cats that are for sale.

also give homeless cats and

also a proposed requirement under the PUPS Act pending in Congress;  «necessary routine and preventive veterinary care», «prompt treatment of illness or injury» and humane euthanasia, at least limiting the methods to those approved by the AVMA.
The new
ordinance also bans residents from tying up
dogs during thunderstorms and extreme temperatures.
The
ordinance approved Tuesday
also replaces the city's vicious animals
ordinance with a similar but broader «dangerous
dogs»
ordinance regarding
dogs that have shown inappropriate aggressive behavior.
