2013 has been a great year
for me, I met Vivienne from Jolie Pagaille and she helped me with this whole blogging thing by letting me
do guest posts on her
blog, then a while later I started my own and have been having a blast ever since.
I've built up a lovely following with readers and other authors who generously share my
posts, invite me
for guest author interviews and I've noticed with every interview I
do just
on a
blog my book sales go up.

for a book marketing campaign, but major
blogs and websites can play an important role in spreading word of mouth, which means it can be worthwhile to write

do Q & As, or otherwise try to get featured by relevant bloggers who reach your target audience.
In response to a question asked
on my last
post — a request
for advice
on gaining reviews
for your book, I decided it was time to get my act together and repurpose a
guest post I
did for Debbie Young's excellent
blog OFF THE SHELF BOOK PROMOTIONS, as this includes one of my favourite pieces of advice
on increasing your chances of getting reviews.
And his input was enormous: his research, writing and editing my
guest posts, emails and teaser
posts on my
blog — it was just too much to
do for me alone.

guest at book clubs, and reach out personally to people in your network through a personal email (which is always underestimated and undervalued as a marketing and promotion tool).
