doing a butcher block top.
I had been thinking about
doing butcher block countertops next year, but I've also heard you can stain this kind to look like butcher block.
We are planning a kitchen renovation next year, and I was thinking about
doing butcher block on a few of the counters that are not our primary work surface.
We did a butcher block countertop similar inspired by Miss Mustard Sred.
I was going for a similar look as you but
we did butcher block on the island.
Beadboard cabinetry lends the kitchen a country flavour, as
does the butcher block - topped island.
Finally, I am also planning to
do butcher block countertops for the most part, and I've been toying with the idea of another material for a little bit of my counter.

What I
do know for sure is that I'll be focusing the majority of my time cooking the meal itself so having a delicious and convenient treat already prepared for dessert is such a weight off my
butcher block so to speak.

butcher block island once that consisted of two cabinets screwed together that I put feet on and once when I tried to move it myself one of the feet caved right over — I didn't want that to happen again.

The holdup has been that we've been waiting on our
butcher block counter tops to arrive at the store, then when they
did we had to sweet talk some of our truck owning friends to pick them up for us.

butcher block with?
I really like my
butcher block countertops and haven't had any problems with them, but I
do feel like I have to be really careful.
It is real wood, and I don't think it has been treated (they encourage you to treat it with food - safe oils), so I assume you could... But I bet you could get more info by researching their
butcher block finishes.
Do you mind if I ask what brand & color stain & what type of polycyclic you used on the
butcher block tops??

Initially, they were thinking about
doing a huge
butcher block top, but soon found out it would cost more than they wanted to spend.
And speaking of countertops, if they don't want to change their current countertop (or aren't in the market for new ones right now), I think the current
butcher block - look laminate will blend in just fine with the new color scheme.

so couldn't get on the granite band wagon [didn't want the popular expensive choice] soooo went with
butcher block.
Do not glue your
butcher block or wide plank top down — this will void the warranty of
butcher blocks or wide plank tops.
I've been looking for a
butcher block that didn't seem too engineered and yours is beautiful!
We recently had a kitchen island with a

block top (looks almost identical to yours) made for us this past winter, and it's been sitting unfinished in our kitchen while I make up my darn mind about what to

On my computer the painted cabinets look like a dark charcoal (which doesn't
do anything for me), but you said «teal» and I love that color & that jewel tone
does go much better with the whole Moroccan feel... plus, yay on the
butcher block counters which again warms it up & balances out the b / w (thank goodness they didn't put in freaky granite that would've been a major needle record screech).
Here, a humble
butcher block does the trick.
