Today the breed continues to excel in the field but they are also great at obedience,
agility, rally, tracking, search and rescue, flyball, as therapy
dogs, or just about anything you care to
train them to
do.
Training a
dog to
do the specialized skills required in
agility creates an incredible, unique bond between
dog and handler, not to mention the fact that
dogs need and thrive on exercise as much as we
do for mental and physical fitness.
These
dogs do very well as assistance and therapy
dogs, plus they can be
trained for various
dog sports like obedience and
agility.
A lot of breeds don't shed much, but this
dog is also good with kids, okay for an apartment, learn well during obedience
training, and excel in
dog sports like
agility.
Keep
training sessions regular (at least a few minutes every day) and fun, and the Miniature Schnauzer can learn to
do just about anything, from retrieving a ball to competing in
dog sports like competitive obedience and
agility (a fast - paced obstacle course race).
The breed typically

do; it could be as simple as playing fetch or having a line up of tricks to
do, or they could practice a sport such as
agility, canine cross
training or fly ball.
Circus class is also an excellent parallel class, meaning in doesn't interfere with any other
training your
dog may be
doing, but rather, the skills learned seem to enhance performance in other realms, be they basic manners or
agility or nose work.
Moving On To Next Level — Once you are
done with basic
training make sure you don't stop and teach your
dog challenging tricks and activities such as
