On the walls, I'd love to use
open shelving instead of cabinets (as seen here on Young House Love and Dana's
kitchen) so the
kitchen doesn't feel too closed

The only comment that I would make, if storage space is a problem
in the
kitchen, you might want to
do cabinets instead of the
open shelving.
I remember the first time I saw the
open shelving in the
kitchen and wished I could
do something like that.

I'm about to redo my very dated 1960's
kitchen in a few months and I definetly think I'll
do some
open shelving in my new
kitchen.

doing it again, I would like to ask about your thoughts on
open shelving for placing dinnerware, glassware, bowls, serving dishes, cups etc..
We're going to be
doing some updates
in our

I think they are fab and love them just about anywhere, even those big ole gaudy ones:) But then, I voted that

I've been thinking about adding
open shelves to the telephone nook
in our
kitchen (which we don't use - no landline) and this post just pushed me over the edge.
The second drawer has a basket with all the baking utensils, the baking ingredients that don't go
in the canisters on the
kitchen open shelves like (coconut and chocolate chips), and the cookie cutters.
