My next project is
doing wood plank counter tops!
I really want to
do a wood plank wall in my bathroom and this is just the inspiration I need.
I'd love to
do wood planks on my kitchen and living room ceiling but I can't seem to find that much uniform barn wood (at a reasonable price) or how to stain new wood to get the finish in the picture!
We just
did wood planked walls in our kitchen, that I painted yellow with some gray to tone it down a bit.
I have been wanting to

I don't have a huge fear of heights, but the thought of walking out onto a bridge built more than a hundred years earlier and paved with

My parents had a
wood plank wall in their old home, but when they built their new house, the didn't include the
planks into the plans.

In our own home, we have
done a few
plank walls, added mudroom built - ins, and are in the process of designing some fabulous barn
wood doors for our office

do this project, and I was going to leave my walls tan behind the
planks and also cut the
wood so they sit behind the outlet covers, but you've changed my mind!

We didn't level the floors before we glued the
wood planks down, and so there are high and low spots.

did that so if any color showed between our white - painted,
wood planks, it would be dark - not light yellow.)
The ceilings are a different story, and I've been thinking about
wood plank, not only because it would look nice (and update the house), but because it's not all that difficult to install (and we've
done a lot of installation of various things lol).
If you don't have
wood underneath your sheetrock, you'll definitely need to drive your nails into the ceiling joists to make sure the
planks stay up!

I love the old
wood planks or molding you used for the frames around Ruthie's painting and the heron one she

We
did the
wood - look vinyl
planks in our basement, and I LOVE it.
Look, all you have to
do is cut and hang the
wood planks.
With my fireplace all spruced up with the new stone front,
wood planked area above and fresh paint on the surround and mantel, I don't want it to get filled with holes just so I can hang Christmas decorations.
(Keep in mind, they * just * added the
wood planks to the other side of the wall that you see there, and it's a wall they don't want a window on.)
Was wondering what you thought of using caulk to fill nail holes and to create a seal between each
plank — recessed enough that the
plank motif is still evidence but it will give a uniform depth (and fill in those few places where the
wood was chipped — these cheap
planks do have some duds)?
Not to mention, an old chandelier of my kitchen table,
plank / bead board bath room walls, pieces of furniture being used as sink bases in both of our bathrooms, and
wood floors are the things I desire to
do this year.
After you are completely
done planking your walls, it's time for some
wood filler.
It doesn't matter what the «
wood» flooring is (hardwood, laminate,
wood - look tile, luxury vinyl
plank which I'm
doing, etc.), it's the actual execution throughout a real house that's so helpful to me (and, of course, the extra plus is that I feel so comfortable with your style and it's so easy to substitute my furnishings for yours).
Basically, plies (layers) of real
wood don't just run the length of each
plank, they're layered one on top of the other, one running lengthwise, one running widthwise.
Where
did you buy the
wood and is it 1 × 6
planks?
Phoenix's weather and concrete foundations
do not lend themselves to real
wood plank floors, so laminate
wood flooring was used as seen in this 2004 home.

There are still a few things we'd like to
do in here: wide -
plank wood floors would look amazing, and a giant chandelier would be dreamy, maybe some more art on the walls and a larger rug.
